Master of War by David Gilman

Master of War is a book about an 18-year-old man called Thomas Blackstone who was once a normal stonemason living a normal village life until some dramatic events occur and is forced to join King Edward V army or be executed for murder he picks the former and in a few weeks he becomes a legendary archer in the English army. His story starts on St Williams day 1346 a very special year in English and French history. This year was the start of the 7 years war. Whilst in France he saves a Princess maid called Christiana whom he falls in love with and 6 words "love can be a dangerous thing" David Gildman use of emotions is amazing the contrast is beautiful and the story feels so true due to this writing like when a person is severely enraged but the next minute they are calm. The way he builds tension and drama is out of this world he keeps you hooked throughout. Constantly enticing you to read more revealing the plot very until the tension explodes.

In my opinion, this is probably one of my favourite books I've ever read.
Out of 10 stars, I would give it 10

I was very surprised when this happened and the whole book was very emotional which I thought was a nice touch by Rick Riodon. This book leads into Percy Jackson and the Battle of the Labyrinth. If you want to know what happened you will have to read it yourself. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Out of ten stars, I would give it a 9.

The Chronicles of Prydain, book 2

 The Black Cauldron The Black Cauldron is the second book in the Chronicles of Prydain series and this is the book which really starts to kick things off. Firstly, Taran joins the quest to capture the eponymous magical cauldron from Arawn D eath-Lord. Who is using it to make huge armies of undead, zombie-like soldiers. After Arawn's 1st army is defeated and the death of his warlord, The Horned King, which ended the Book of Three. Prince Gwydion has called his allies to a council hosted by Dallben, one of Taran's guardians. Men are disappearing and more and more of the undead-Cauldron Born have joined forces with Arawn the Death Lord.  Will they succeed? who knows? find out next time when I do a review on the 3rd instalment of this series. Out of 10 stars, I would rate this book as a 9.5 due to it being very captivating and you just get entranced by the style of writing and tone of the language.
